Cheapest Way to Fill Your LEGO Star Wars UCS AT-AT with Snowtroopers Revisited

  • by

This is an updated version of the article we published on January 3rd taking into account the price increase of the LEGO Star Wars Magazine from £3.99 to £4.25. Issue 79 of the LEGO Star Wars Magazine is out now in the UK and features the cover mounted Snowtrooper.

The awesome new LEGO Star Wars UCS AT-AT (#75313) has seats for 40 Snowtroopers but the set only comes with 5 troopers, one of which is a Snowtooper Commander, so what’s the best/cheapest way to get the other 35 troopers?

This version of the Snowtrooper minifigure with printed legs and torso was first released in 2019 and there was one available in the Hoth Generator Attack (#75239), another one in the Snowspeeder (#75268), two in the Action Battle Echo Base Defence (#75241), and  2020’s AT-AT (#75288) also contained two. So, if you own all of these sets you already have another six of these that will work with the new UCS AT-AT.

Fortunately, LEGO has you covered with the new Snowtrooper Battle Pack (#75320) which contains 3 Snowtroopers and a Hoth Scout Trooper for £17.99. It also contains the same speeder bike as the UCS AT-AT so you’ll need at least two of these sets to ensure you have four of the same speeder bikes for your new AT-AT. We have checked prices on Bricklink for the Snowtrooper and they are all more than £6 each, making the Battle Pack the cheaper way to get three for £17.99.

Now you have a decision to make, do you want a total of 40 Snowtroopers or 36 with 4 Hoth Scout Troopers to pilot the speeder bikes? All options assume you do not already own any other Snowtrooper minifigures and you are paying full price for the Battle Pack, at £17.99.

Option 1 – 40 Snowtroopers, costing £215.98

UCS AT-AT has 5 Snowtroopers

35 Snowtroopers requires 12 Battle Packs at £17.99/each
£215.88

Option 2 – 36 Snowtroopers and 4 Hoth Scout Troopers, costing £197.89

UCS AT-AT has 5 Snowtroopers

4 Hoth Scout Troopers requires 4 Battle Packs at £17.99 each, also gets 12 Snowtroopers, taking total to 17
£71.96

Need another 19 Snowtroopers, requiring 7 Battle Packs
£125.93

There is another option available to those that get the LEGO Star Wars Magazine in Europe, since the Snowtrooper is the cover mount on the current issue out now. In the UK the price of the magazine has increased from £3.99 to £4.25 making it cheaper to buy the Snowtroopers this way, rather than as part of the Battle Pack.

Option 3 – 40 Snowtroopers (with LEGO Star Wars Magazine), costing £159.23

UCS AT-AT has 5 Snowtroopers

2 Battle Packs required to get four Speeder Bikes, also gets another 6 Snowtroopers, taking total to 11
£35.98

Need another 29 Snowtroopers, buy 29 copies of LEGO Star Wars Magazine at £4.25 each
£123.25

Option 4 – 36 Snowtroopers and 4 Hoth Scout Troopers (with LEGO Star Wars Magazine), costing £152.71

UCS AT-AT has 5 Snowtroopers

4 Hoth Scout Troopers requires 4 Battle Packs at £17.99 each, also gets 12 Snowtroopers, taking total to 17
£71.96

Need another 19 Snowtroopers, buy 19 copies of LEGO Star Wars Magazine at £4.25 each
£80.75

Which option will you be going for?

Personally, I have already managed to buy four of the new Battle Packs, since I want four of the Scout Troopers to pilot the speeder bikes, and will try and get as many of the LEGO Star Wars Magazines I can — at the time of publishing, I’m currently at 13 copies of the magazinwith just 6 to go!
