Last year October, it was announced that the strategic RPG mobile fantasy game, Arknights, would be getting a TV anime series. Yostar Pictures is producing the adaptation under the name Arknights: Prelude to Dawn.

The mobile game Arknights was developed by two Chinese studios- Studio Montagne and Hypergryph- and released in China in 2019. A year after in January, Yostar Pictures launched the game worldwide.
During the second anniversary live stream for the mobile game, a visual and a couple of staff and cast members were unveiled for the upcoming TV anime adaptation.
Ace, an unvoiced NPC character in the mobile game, will be voiced by Takashi Matsuyama in the anime. Ace is a supporting character in the game’s prologue. He’s also seen in Episode 1 of the game.
The visual released for the anime adaptation is the background of the anime’s official website. The still features key characters such as Amiya, Blaze, and the Doctor. The TV anime is said to follow the lore of the mobile counterpart and will focus on the adventures of said characters and more.
The mobile game Arknights is a tower defense game that utilizes different characters, called operators, to hold down the towers. The game’s plot is set on a dystopian planet called Terra. Unending natural disasters plague Terra and its people have animal and mythological characteristics.
Players play as the Doctor, the masked protagonist, and leads a team of operators. The farther you get into the game, the more operators (characters) you unlock.
Many fans of the game are looking forward to the release of the TV adaptation. More information will be shared in the following months.
