If you’re a big fan of Hotondoshindeiru’s isekai manga Uncle from Another World, we’ve got exciting news. Atelier Pontdarc will be producing an anime television series under the same title to premiere in 2022. Shigeki Kawai will be directing, alongside Kenta Ihara as a scriptwriter.
The confirmed main cast members are the following: Takehito Koyasu as Uncle, Jun Fukuyama as Takafumi, Mikako Komatsu as Fujimiya, Haruka Tomatsu as Elf, Aoi Yuki as Mabel, and Aki Toyosaki as Alicia.
Uncle from Another World follows the story of Takafumi as he brings his Uncle, who has been in a coma for 17 years, up to date to present-day Japan. However, Takafumi could never have imagined that while his Uncle was in a vegetative state, he was actually living his life as a heroic guardian in a fantasy world! Finally awake again, Takafumi’s Uncle is not the same man he was; he’s now a magical being stuck in present-day Japan.
According to the anime’s website, the anime is set to premiere in 2022, with the exact air date still to be released. On December 24, the website uploaded news that a special video, most probably a PV for the upcoming anime, will be uploaded on Christmas Day on KADOKAWAanime’s YouTube channel.
Currently, the manga has five volumes in circulation that has sold over 1.5 million copies since its release in June 2018.
